MEETING SUMMARY - APRIL 21, 2001

For our April meeting, we had two new faces. Welcome!

Our main presentation was the video "SCRAMBLED: A Journey Through PCOS" by Randi Cecchine. It featured the story of one woman's search for a diagnosis and treatment, and interviews with several PCOS women about their experiences. It was a short but excellent introduction to PCOS including but not limited to symptoms, diagnostic testing, the pros and cons of Metformin (Glucophage), alternative treatments, and how PCOS affects relationships. It could have been subtitled "You'll know you're not alone!" This video is available at http://www.scrambledthewebsite.com.

The question & answer session included topics relating to infertility, use of herbs in the treatment for PCOS, Metformin, local physicians, depression, and insulin resistance. Due to our intimate gathering, we were able to discuss these topics in depth.

For those who missed this meeting, we hope you'll plan on attending our next meeting in June!
